Cougar Rocks Come watch these San Francisco Bay Area cougar cubs grow!

Meet Kayah & Aiyana, the newest addition to Discovery Kingdom. These cubs were born weighing in at a pound, but just 5 months later they have grown to be just over 30lbs. At the age of 3, these big cats will reach their full growth and can teeter around 100lbs. Although they are among the smaller big cats, they can reach up to 5 feet tall when standing on their hind legs.

As cougars are native to the Americas, Kayah & Aiyana have been named to reflect that. In Native American Hopi, Kayah means little but wise. Aiyana means eternal flower in Cherokee. Both female cubs can be see playing and laying at Cougar Rocks in the land animal side of the park near Sidewinder Safari.
